A car must rank as good in the front impact test and side test and advanced or superior in the daytime and nighttime pedestrian tests. It must also rate as acceptable or good in standard headlights.
When it comes to the Top Safety Pick Award, which the 2023 Audi Q5 was awarded, cars must rank as good in the front impact tests and receive a ranking of at least acceptable in a side impact test. It must also feature standard headlights with at least an acceptable rating and provide a forward collision advance system that ranks either advanced or superior in a daytime pedestrian test.
