The e-tron GT Is Audi’s First Electric Vehicle Made in Germany
Audi fanatics have something big to look forward to in 2021: the production of the all-electric e-tron GT, the brand’s newest luxury and performance sedan. What makes this vehicle so significant to the Audi brand is that it’s the first Audi to be built in its home country. The aim of having the vehicle made at their German facility is to help improve production speed which in turn brings the vehicle to the masses faster.
The e-tron GT was made in collaboration with Porsche, boasting the same platform and powertrain as the Taycan. This hotly-anticipated all-electric Audi was shown as a prototype in 2018 and even had a cameo in an Avengers film. When the vehicle finally becomes available for pre-order in 2021, Audi can expect luxury-vehicle lovers to jump at the chance to be among the first owners of this latest addition to the electric vehicle market. Even though production is already in motion, Audi won’t start taking orders for the e-tron GT until spring 2021.
